September 1

I was working on Ethan and Victors photo albums last night and came across these pictures.  Yes they are the same shot, but it was of our, lot or standing on our lot (before we bought it in July).  I think I took these to show Troy the spot I liked.  It wasn't availible at the time so we were looking at a different lot down the road and talking about purchasing it, when this one became availible.  I took this in June 2010 and we bought the lot July 1, 2009.  We thought we were going to build right away, but when are rental didn't sell we ended up waiting a year.  Good thing too.  In January we were asked to work in Hong Kong, that fell through, but then it looked like Belguim for a few weeks, I even started boxing things up in March.  That fell through so I met with Landforms to draw up some plans from scratch.  We had altered a set of plans they had in the fall, but when we went back to them we didn't like the house at all!  What a blessing, because I think we are really going to love the layout of the house we are building.  I get so excited just thinking about where everything is going to go and how things are going to sit or work in the new house.

Wednesday, August 31

Met with Eric and Doug, the excavator, at the house Wednesday morning.  Doug is going to bring in rocks for the front and back of the house and push all the dirt around the foundation.  He will also level things out on the West side of the house so they can bring the lumber up Monday and start FRAMING!  This is better than Christmas!  It is crazy how much dirt they have needed to use, we have used all the dirt dug out from the neighbors yard, they thought it would be enough, but we need more.  I guess that is how it goes.

Tuesday, August 30th

 Tuesday morning they poured the basement floor!  So very exciting, it looks so big... hope we can keep it all clean.

August 26th

Happy Birthday to me!  Friday they finished laying down the radiant heating hoses.  Monday they get inspected and Tuesday they pour the concrete.  Things just keep moving along.

 Some rock for the outside of the house that I looked at yesterday and a couple tubs I liked that I looked at on Tuesday.  Only to find out that it's cheaper to frame in the tub... so we'll see what I end up doing.

August 24th & 25th

 They fixed the plumbing in the basement laundry room and were then able to spread dirt and gravel around the footings and pack it down.

 Thursday we stopped by to find that they had started to lay the radiant heat pipes!  They will hopefully finish tomorrow so they can pour the concrete on Monday or Tuesday, but where it's been so hot I think they are looking at Tuesday so they can start early in the morning.  It's crazy how covering up the dirt makes the house look so much bigger.

August 20th
